Typically a minimum of 3-6 treatment sessions is required (more for acne scarring) with 6 weeks interval between treatments, your own specific needs and the correct treatment will be outlined through consultation.
Using a Genuine Dermaroller™ medical device, our Doctor can produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and is approximately 0.1mm in width. The column then closes rapidly, enabling the skin to recover quickly and more often in the same day.
We use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure much more comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.
After a Genuine Dermaroller Therapy treatment your body will start to naturally repair the skin and regenerate itself, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
Please note that you must be aware that the process is not an overnight fix, results with continue to improve over a few weeks, with the skin increasingly looking brighter and smoother.
Our doctor will normally recommend that your Genuine Dermaroller Therapy consists of a series of three Genuine Dermaroller treatments with approximately 6 week intervals for the best results. In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Genuine Dermaroller Therapy, carrying out up to six procedures.
Immediately after the treatment your skin will look as though you have moderate sunburn and it may feel warm and tighter than normal. This is completely normal though and will start to reduce after 1 to 2 hours and you will see recovery within the same day, with only slight redness the following day.
There are other minor possible side effects, you can find out more about these in your consultation.
