The skin’s structure wears away due to simple things such as wind, sun, cold, tiredness, emotional and hormonal changes. The skin’s natural hyaluronic acid decreases with age creating lines around your nose and lips and a reduction in fullness around your jaws, lips and cheeks. The dermal filler replaces this lost hyaluronic acid and improves the skin’s fullness and decreases the appearance of tiredness.
For dermal fillers the treatment areas include smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, smoker’s lines, frown lines (glabella lines) and fullness of the lips and cheeks.
At The Garden Skin Clinic we understand the importance of the procedure and patient care.
We only allow our specially trained doctors or dentist to administer dermal filler treatments.
We carry out a free consultation with our doctor before treatments as well as a free follow up appointment to review your results.
As a precaution we will not treat those that have a history of an anaphylactic event of any cause, previous sensitivity to bovine collagen, lidocaine sensitivity, those that are pregnant, active infection at the treatment site, history of Keloid, history of atrophic skin diseases, patients with thin, flaccid skin because of the risk of permanent surface irregularities.
Should any special precautions be taken before or after a dermal filler treatment?
Do not apply make-up for 12 hours afterwards. You must not drink anything too hot or too cold (if you have had lip treatment). You should only use a perfume-free moisturiser if you have any dry skin. If you have any concerns, contact your doctor.
What are the side effects of dermal fillers?
Immediately after your dermal filler treatment there may be a little swelling. The changes you will notice immediately will seem more significant than expected. This is normal and you should not panic. After a few days the swelling will go down and you will see the final result.
Patients may feel a little pain at the treatment site. You may also feel slight hardness to the treated area. This will reduce after approximately one week.
